“I am my mother’s primary caregiver; she has Alzheimer’s. I have two siblings; my sister lives about an hour away and my brother lives in Arizona. My sister visits almost every weekend and gives me a break for a couple hours. It upsets me when she comes because my mother tells her lies about me — like I didn’t make her breakfast or I didn’t take her to her doctor appointment. I do everything for her and it makes me so angry that she lies about me. My sister doesn’t tell her she’s wrong; she just smiles at her and nods her head. I feel like no one appreciates what I do.”
