Steve Ledvina

Founder and Health Coach

I have been deeply affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Three of my grandparents spent the final years of their lives suffering from dementia. During these years, I saw first-hand the immense toll it takes on those afflicted and their loved ones. I’m doing what I can to help myself, my family and everyone at-risk for dementia achieve their best chance of preventing or delaying dementia. There are many essential aspects to the fight against dementia, including the search for a cure, developing better diagnostic tools, supporting caregivers, lobbying, and more. I have chosen to focus on one part we can personally control: our lifestyles. We can’t control our genetic predisposition, but we can control how we live. For most of us, managing our health throughout our lives has enormous impacts on when, how, and even if we get dementia. That’s why I’m dedicated to helping others live a lifestyle of prevention through brain health coaching and education.

In this pursuit, I am combining my personal passion for brain health, my family’s experiences and concerns, and my education. My B.S. in Psychology gives me a strong background in brain science, scrutinizing research, and human behavior. My years sifting through Alzheimer’s research in the previous iteration of Knowing Alz gives me a robust understanding of the disease science. My education in health and wellness coaching gives me the tools to assist you in implementing changes in your life. And my own personal experience with Alzheimer’s and the life I’m living to prevent it help keep me rooted in empathy. I would be honored to be your partner in health.
